I had forgotten about this picture I did a couple of years ago for my Mother-in Law. She loves to camp and be outdoors all the time. Ommie has taught me how to canoe, pitch a tent, build a fire and bake a cake over an open fire. She begged me to paint her something, so I chose our State Bird. The Meadowlark.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Of course, I was listening to some tourists the other day at one of the parks we hang at. They were happily convincing each other the pelican they were looking at was a bald eagle. I couldn't decide whether to laugh at them or strangle them.
I would pay admission to see a turkey on a wire! Once in a while one of the herons or egrets will give it a go around here. FUNNY. Did you see Pixar's "For the Birds"? Looks just like that. Big bird, long legs, teetering back and forth on a wire. We always wonder if they think it's some kind of fun ride.
